A photograph of Mr Burn found by Steve Cropper, which was taken in 1958. Mr Burn had a nickname of "Goodly Portion" as it was a phrase he used often.
Doug Betts remembers that shortly after he joined THS in 1951 Mr Burns was taken ill with Tuberculosis which was still a scourge affecting the country at the time. As a result the whole school was taken in relays to a clinic on St Matthews Parade for chest X-Rays as a precaution against it's spread. This happened during the late summer of 1952 to the best of my recollection.
