There are three Key Stage Co-ordinators at Trinity. Each
one is responsible for the pupils in different Key
Stages. The Key Stages cover the following years:-
Key Stage 3 - Year 9
Key Stage 4 - Years 10 and 11
Key Stage 5 - Years 12 and 13
The Key Stage coordinators are
members of the school management team and work in close
partnership with one of the Deputies or the Director. Each
Co-ordinator has oversight of both pastoral and academic
welfare of the pupils within their Key Stage.
Key Stage Co-ordinators have a variety of responsibilities
which are relevant to the time a pupil spends within each
Key Stage and they work closely with teams of form tutors to
monitor the progress and development of the pupils. The Key
Stage 3 Co-ordinator liaises with middle school parents and
pupils regarding choice of upper school at 13 + and during
Year 9 organises Key Stage 3 testing. The Key Stage 3 Co-ordinator
also ensures that pupils choose appropriate GCSE courses to
enable a seamless transition into Key Stage 4.
The pupils embark on their examination courses under the
care of the Key Stage 4 Co-ordinator until they either
continue in the Sixth Form (Key Stage 5) where a wide range
of one and two year courses are available, or take up
further education/career opportunities at the end of Year
11.
The Key Stage 5 Co-ordinator supports the pupils in their
Sixth Form studies and in their progression from school to
higher education or to other chosen professions.
Admissions
Parents seeking admissions for their son or daughter at the
beginning of their school career in Year 9 will be able to
visit the school in the Autumn Term during their child's
final year at middle school (Year 8). Parents will be
invited to express a preference for their child's upper
school at the beginning of the Spring Term and parents
selecting Trinity as their first choice will not normally
experience any difficulty in placing their child here.
Parents wishing to transfer their children to Trinity at any
other time should contact the appropriate Key Stage Co-ordinator
who will indicate whether or not places are available in the
relevant year group. Mid-year admissions will be limited by
the capacity of the school to provide an appropriate
curriculum, bearing in mind the needs and the prior
experience of the child and the pressures on planned
curriculum provision.
