Graham Ball has copied some photos from a school magazine of the April 1976 Rugby Tour to France. He remembers:
I was in lower sixth in April 1976 and was part of the
1st XV Rugby team that visited Narbonne in the South of France.
The article in the May 1976 magazine (page 18) describes describes what
were two very tough (if not violent) encounters, particularly the second
match against Narbonne in their stadium.
Whilst the quality is not brilliant I have attached two photos of the
game against Narbonne, I was playing fly half and can be seen behind the
scrum in the photo. T here were some great characters on this tour
(T.I.T. - Trinity in Transit!) including Roger Barnes, Steve Tew,
Freddie Fawcett and many more. I have also attached two further photos
(quite brave when you see the haircuts) of myself with Freddie Fawcett
walking through Narbonne and another on Steve Tews shoulders also in
Narbonne.
