Peter recently had to do some work at his father's house in Northampton, and found some more old paperwork from his school days. They are reproduced here. Due to their age and the way they were printed in the first place, they are a little feint, but of you click on the small image a much larger version is displayed, which is much easier to read.
The documents include the receipt for his school uniform, purchased in 1956 for £7-3-8d. A lot of money in 1956.
Below is a letter from the school accepting Peter in to the school and laying out the rules, timings and the school uniform list. It is followed by a "Permit" allowing you to buy the school uniform from the outfitters and finally a receipt for the purchase of the new school uniform.
Interesting that they found it necessary to issue a permit. I would not have thought that anyone would have actually paid for a uniform unless their child was going to the school!
